Order nowCarbon emissions

The UK emits 150 million tonnes of carbon into the atmosphere every year – 2.62 tonnes for every one of us – as we perform our daily activities of transport, heating and in keeping ourselves and our families alive and comfortable. Many of us actually emit a great deal more than this average and you can check this on one of our selected “carbon footprint” calculators in “How many trees shall I plant”.

We need all of us to reduce this figure, both nationally and individually, by 60% (by 2050 to 60 million tonnes annually for the UK) in order to avoid major life changing climatic catastrophes. This has now become an almost universal global consensus.
