Full Description

Shrub Honeysuckle (Lonicera Nitida) is a compact, evergreen shrub with small, glossy leaves on long stems, making it an ideal choice for hedging. Its bushy growth is easy to maintain, providing a neat and attractive hedge. Similar in appearance to Box hedging, Shrub Honeysuckle offers a great alternative if your Box is affected by Box Blight.

During a good summer, it can produce small, fragrant white flowers that eventually turn into purple-blue berries in the autumn, adding seasonal interest to your garden. Preferring a sunny or partially shaded spot, this versatile shrub thrives in well-drained soil and is not suited for wet or exposed seaside areas.

Perfect for topiary work, Shrub Honeysuckle is an excellent choice for gardeners looking to create sculpted shapes or maintain a tidy, low-maintenance hedge.

Aftercare

Bare root plants should be well watered in its first season, especially during hot weather.  Looks its best at height of 1-3 meters. Beautiful evergreen hedge, widely used and can be used for topiary.  Easy to maintain and best if pruned at least twice a year (late summer) when birds have finished nesting.
