How to shop online

Follow our guidelines below for an enjoyable and hassle-free shopping experience.

1. Selecting products

Visit our online tree nursery to search our range of trees and accessories. Click the links, or use our search form, to browse to the item you require.

To add an item to your shopping basket enter the quantity required in the form (you can alter this later on) and click the ADD TO ORDER button. This will take you to the shopping basket page.

2. Shopping Basket

You can view the products that you have added to your shopping basket at any time on the shopping basket. Here you can edit quantities of the products in your online shopping basket, you may also remove items by setting the quantity to zero and clicking the UPDATE button.

The total displayed in the shopping basket page is the inclusive, delivered price (delivery to UK mainland only) in Pounds Sterling. For other delivery detinations contact us for a quotation priot to purchase.

When you are happy with the items in your shopping basket click the PROCEED TO CHECKOUT button at the bottom of the shopping basket page.

3. Checkout

3.1 Security
We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology, which is the industry standard and among the best software available for secure payment transactions. Your transactions (including credit card information) are "scrambled" so that security is never compromised. The encryption makes it virtually impossible for unauthorised parties to read any information sent to us. SSL works with Netscape Navigator (version 3.0 and above), Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 3.02 and above) and AOL (AOL 3.0 and above). 3.2 Terms & Conditions

3.3 Checkout Login
On entering the checkout area you have two options:

3.3.1 New customers
New customers should click the link to add their details. We will require name, address, delivery name and address (including full postcode), and your credit card information.

3.3.2 Returning customers
Customers on subsquent visits to can enter their email address and password and retrieve their details. This is a secure process that makes your shopping experience as fast as possible.

Under the login form their is a "Remember me" check box. This check box uses a cookie to store your login details on your computer, if you are concerned about the security of cookies, or if you are shopping from a public computer do not tick this box.

If you have fogotten your password you can click the "forgotten password" link. You will be prompted to enter your email address and postcode, it is important that this is the same email address and postcode you originally registered with. You password will be sent directly to your email address.

3.4 Payment
All prices are quoted in Pounds Sterling and include VAT where applicable. Delivery to the UK mainland is added on the shopping basket page, the price quoted on the shopping basket page is the total price for customers in the UK mainland, there are no further additions. Customers overseas should contact us for a full quotation for delivery.

We can accept the following credit and debit cards online: Visa, Mastercard, Switch.

Customers who already have a credit account with Woodland Improvement & Conservation can pay on account by selecting the "Account" option in the card type list.

3.5 Order confirmation
Once all your details have been entered into the checkout form you will be presented will an order confirmation page. You may print this page for your records, you will also be sent a confirmation email. A full tax reciept will be sent with your goods. You order will carry a unique order number, this is displayed in your email and on the confirmation page. Please quote this order number in all correspondance.

Delivery will normally be made within 7 days and we always inform you of a date which is suitable to yourselves either by telephone or email. However, if for any reason we have any problems with your order and cannot deliver within 7 days we will contact you with a suitable delivery date.

Our normal delivery method is by courier who will leave the goods without a signature but only if you advice as to where you would like your delivery left. This can be done by leaving instructions in the comment box on the order form. When ordering very small quantities of small items these can sometimes be sent by Royal Mail and we will contact you with a reduced delivery cost which we can alter through Sage Pay. Sometimes with bulky orders we do require the goods to go by pallet and this will entail a more expensive delivery charge which again we would contact you with the additional costs.

All our stock is ‘lifted’ to order which means that they are ‘lifted’ and packed the same day and sent off so delivery is made the following day. They are packed into co-extrusion bags and are able to be kept in these bags for upto 10/14 days, out of any frosts. It is advisable to plant barerooted trees as soon as possible.

Delivery Charges

Our delivery charges shown on the web site are only for UK mainland. Scotland Grampians/Highlands do carry an extra delivery charge according to our couriers which is usually an extra £20 but this would reflect on the whole order.

Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland. It is possible for us to arrange delivery to these areas but we would have to arrange the cost with our couriers, so you would need to contact our office.

Exchanges and Returns

When you receive goods ordered from, you have a statutory right that allows you to cancel the order up to seven working days starting from the day AFTER the goods were delivered. Please note 7 working days do not include public holidays or weekends.

We will refund the price paid as soon as possible, but no later than 30 days from notification that you wish to cancel the order. This notification must be in writing, and will not be accepted in the form of a telephone call only. We will only refund the cost of the goods and the original carriage cost.

You must return the goods to, or make them freely available for collection by our appointed courier. If you do not freely return the goods, at your cost, to then we may have to deduct any reasonable costs we incur in recovering the goods from you. This will be deducted from your refund.

If you, the consumer, wishes to return goods, you will return them at your own cost, we will only refund the return carriage if the goods are faulty or are incorrect.

Where products supplied are damaged, incorrect or faulty we will either replace the item or issue a full refund within 30 days of notice. We may request goods to be returned for inspection prior to agreeing to any refund at your cost. If goods are confirmed to be faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied we will refund any carriage costs incurred in returning the goods.

We will review and acknowledge your complaint by email or letter within five working days. We aim to resolve all complaints within 14 days of receipt, you will receive a full reply by email or letter. If your complaint takes longer than expected to resolve we will keep you informed of our progress as we investigate the relevant issues.
