Full Description

The Noble Fir (Abies Procera) Tree is a resilient tree known for its ability to thrive in challenging conditions. Tolerant of poor soils, snow, and exposed sites, it is an excellent choice for more rugged landscapes. Its blue/green needles contrast beautifully with deep red male flowers and upright yellow female flowers. The tree’s cones can grow up to 25cm in length, adding visual interest.

Native to Oregon and Washington, the Noble Fir excels in exposed mountain sides, particularly in western Britain, thanks to its remarkable ability to withstand severe winds and remain upright. It thrives in peaty soils with adequate groundwater, but should not be planted in dry or frosty lowland areas, as its stems may crack and the timber can degrade.

Perfect for those looking to add a hardy, striking tree to their landscape, the Noble Fir is a great choice for difficult sites where other trees may struggle.

Aftercare

Noble Fir is one of the most popular trees selected for Christmas.  It does not shed its needles. Thrives in sheltered conditions on well drained soil but does required sunny position. Pruning if necessary should be done in late winter or early Spring.
